  The "Carpenter's Axe" has a long straight edge and thin blade with a low angle of the bevel face. Made of the highest quality Swedish steel available, this axe's head has a forged inward curve from the heel to the lip of the head which permits your hand to grip almost straight above the center of the cutting edge which gives stability, control, & precision when cutting. The function is almost like a excellent stout cutting knife! The axe poll is ground & can be used as a hammer. The axe has a 3-1/2" long face, with 18" long hickory handle, with the head weighing 2  lb. Axe includes a grain leather sheath as well.

     Each axe head is hand-forged from special Swedish steel which is then honed, tempered, & annealed to the perfect hardness by the experienced Gränfors Bruk Swedish smiths who stamp their initials on the head, creating a one-of-a-kind masterpiece you'll treasure for years to come.
