Handbuilt sculptural coastal bowl by North Carolina studio potter Vicky Smith. Wheel-thrown stoneware body with altered rim modeled into two opposing fish heads and a wave-crest edge, then glazed in ocean whites and sandy copper browns. Smith is an eastern NC ceramic artist with a UNCW Studio Art degree and an MFA from ECU; after 12 years teaching ceramics at UNCW she focused on wildlife-inspired vessels, often featuring birds and fish, and sold through Port City Pottery & Fine Crafts in Wilmington, NC. Piece is signed on the base. Measures about 11.5 x 9.25 x 6.75 inches. One-of-a-kind statement centerpiece for coastal, cottage, or eclectic art decor.

Condition: no repairs; interior shows natural glaze crazing and a hairline in the glaze near the rim from firing stress (see photos); presents solid and displays beautifully.
